Abigroup has won the design and construct contract to build a $45 million, eight storey car park at Sydney’s International Airport Terminal.
This contract builds on Abigroup’s successful relationship with Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL), having recently completed the Central Terrace Building for the same client only months ago, as well as the Central Multi‐Storey Car Park in 2008.
Abigroup’s NSW Building Manager George Bardas said, “Our success in securing this project is largely a result of our strong relationship over several years with Sydney Airport Corporation Limited having delivered several major projects for them recently.

Planning Minister John Day said tenders have been called for significant road and infrastructure works adjacent to the four-hectare Waterbank site, part of EPRA’s Riverside project in East Perth.
“The Riverside project will transform the eastern gateway to Perth and create a cosmopolitan waterfront community,” Mr Day said.
“EPRA is in the final stages of evaluating two submissions from Lend Lease and Brookfield Multiplex Constructions with Frasers Property Australia, to develop Waterbank and deliver a new precinct for local residents and visitors to the city.
“The State Government is about building things and is now looking to award a contract to prepare the waterfront site for future development.

The Airport Link project celebrated another milestone in early September with the completion of all 12 of the new bridge structures being built at Bowen Hills in Brisbane.
With only 10 months until project completion, the final bridge beam has been installed, completing Bridge 104 which will connect Airport Link to the Inner City Bypass– signalling an end to beam installation work in the precinct.
Construction of the bridges has been a tremendous accomplishment with
the tallest bridge standing more than 26 metres above the ground and the
longest bridge measuring a massive 680 metres long.

North West Rail Link Progresses

Geotechnical drilling work has commenced on the North West Rail Link. It will assist engineers in providing a more detailed assessment of underground conditions for the construction of Australia's longest rail tunnels.
Last week NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell, Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian and Treasurer Mike Baird inspected drilling work at Old Northern Rd in Castle Hill, above what will be the new Castle Hill station.
Ms Berejiklian said the start of geotechnical drilling along the 23-kilometre route was a significant milestone.
"This is an important part of the design work currently underway for the project and will help produce a very detailed picture of what the tunnelling contractors will encounter as they build our nation's longest rail tunnels," Ms Berejiklian said.
