Advanced Searches
AEOL's Search engine is far more powerful than a typical tag search provided by many of the Blog style sites available on the internet and as such has similar features to search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. So why not explore some of the advanced features below and really put AEOL to use:
-
Keep it Simple - Try to use as few search terms as possible to describe what you are looking for. If you are looking for a particular company just enter it's name or one word of the name.
-
Exact Phrase Search [""] - By placing double quotes around a set of terms AEOL will search that exact phrase, this can be very handy when searching for terms such as ["Pacific Highway"] or ["Bruce Highway"]. This is so that results are not returned for the term 'Highway' as well, which could be mentioned 1000's of times. NOTE: Exact Phrase searches are most helpful when 'sorting by date'. Try these 'sorted by date' example:
-
Describe what you need with as few terms as possible - For example if you are looking for 'Bridge construction on the pacific Highway' you should try a search for ["Pacific Highway" Bridges].
-
Wild Card Search (*) - AEOL search has wild card enabled, this means you can replace parts of an unknown term with a (*) to return related results.
