Three appointments bolster SKM in New Zealand

Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) has made three significant appointments to its management team, reflecting its continued growth across New Zealand and in particular the power and energy sector.
Andrew Croker has been appointed Regional Manager, New Zealand, succeeding Dr Michael Shirley who has moved to the role of General Manager, Buildings and Infrastructure.
Andrew was previously the Operations Manager for Power and Energy in New Zealand. He has worked in various roles within SKM for seven years and has extensive experience both in New Zealand and Australia.
In his new role he leads a national team of over 350 staff, operating across three sectors including Buildings and Infrastructure, Water and Environment, and Power and Energy. Andrew’s focus in his new role will be on the project delivery, enhancing New Zealand’s engineering reputation internationally and ensuring SKM remains an employer of choice.
Stepping into Andrew’s shoes as Operations Manager for Power and Energy is Vince Vella-Brincat. Located in Christchurch, Vince has been with SKM for 15 years and has extensive experience in the project and design management of multi-disciplinary project teams.
The SKM Power and Energy team comprises 130 engineers, scientists and consultants who work on major projects in the renewable generation, oil and gas, strategic consulting and industrial sectors within New Zealand and globally. Clients include Meridian, Mighty River Power, Transpower, Contact, Fonterra and Chevron.
A key addition to the SKM Power and Energy group is Zane Murray, who joins the team as National Client Manager – Generation. Zane comes to SKM with a strong reputation within the generation industry of New Zealand and will be working on developing new projects with these clients. Based in Christchurch, Zane will be spending time in all SKM’s offices building relationships with the generation clients and focusing on project delivery.
