AECOM has announced the following significant leadership appointment to its Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) business.
Michael Kerry will lead the Planning, Design and Development (PDD) business in ANZ following incumbent Graeme Harvison’s decision to focus on managing PDD’s Design + Planning group.
Based in Brisbane and formerly Queensland Regional Director for Parsons Brinckerhoff, Michael has extensive experience in city and regional planning, infrastructure planning, major projects, urban development and environmental management, both nationally and internationally.
“I am very pleased to have joined the PDD team in AECOM and look forward to re-engaging with my primary passion in planning, design and economics,” said Mr Kerry.
“With the current debate focused on population growth and capital cities continuing to grow at a relatively fast pace there is a strong emphasis on managing sustainable growth, devising smarter solutions, excellence in urban design and enhancing the quality of the public realm.”
Mr Kerry previously held senior positions with Babcock & Brown, Springfield Land Corporation and Southbank Corporation and is credited with establishing the Queensland Government’s Office of Urban Management and preparing Regional and Infrastructure Plans for South East Queensland.
He is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Queensland, a Board Member of the Centre for Subtropical Design, Urban Land Development Authority and the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, and is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia.
