Dr Jeff Foley, GHD’s
Manager for Integrated Water Systems in Western Australia has been named
Adjunct Professor by The University of Western Australia (UWA) within
the School of Environmental Systems Engineering for the next three
years. UWA awarded Dr Foley this title as formal recognition of his
significant contribution to the work and activities of the University.
Jeff holds more than 11 years’ experience in the areas of wastewater
treatment & recycling, odour control, life cycle assessment and
greenhouse gas emissions. His involvement in projects has ranged from
concept design and process modelling, through to detailed design,
construction, commissioning and process optimisation. For the past five
years, Jeff has acted as the principal technical advisor to the Water
Services Association of Australia, in their negotiations with the
Department of Climate Change on industry concerns regarding measurement
and liability issues under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting
Scheme and the associated Clean Energy Futures legislation.
Speaking of the honour, Jeff comments, “This recognition allows me to be involved with selected UWA research projects, particularly through the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities. In addition, I’ll be able to occasionally deliver guest lectures – particularly in subjects on wastewater treatment, life cycle assessment and greenhouse gas emissions.
“Furthermore, I see it as an opportunity to strengthen the ties between UWA, GHD and students.”
