Peter Skinner joins SLR as new Chief Operating Officer

SLR has appointed Peter Skinner as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Peter joins SLR from AECOM where he led their Environment and Ground Engineering business in EMEA for the past five years. As COO and a main board director, Peter will lead operational management and growth in the business: providing leadership and working closely with SLR’s five Regional Managers (Africa, APAC, Canada, Europe, US) and their service line and sector teams.
Peter’s appointment consolidates operational leadership in SLR and follows a move by the two current Operations Directors into new roles. Kevin Rattue has moved to focus on the leadership of SLR’s expanding business in the US and Peter MacKellar has taken on a new role to lead the HSEQ, IT, business systems and risk teams. Both remain main board directors of SLR.
Peter Skinner has been a consultant for 35 years in geotechnics and environment, first with Gibb and subsequently Dames & Moore, URS and then AECOM. Alongside his senior leadership roles, he has significant experience in both project management and client development.
SLR’s CEO Neil Penhall commented “I am delighted to welcome Peter to SLR. Peter brings tremendous skills and experience to the business having held several senior management positions in our sector.
