The Oracle Industries Innovation Lab is a unique facility that provides a simulated worksite environment with integrated technologies to help accelerate digital transformation by project- and asset-intensive organizations.

We're excited to highlight two new technology partners, Assignar and Industrial Training International (ITI), who have joined the growing technology ecosystem at the Lab.

Assignar: Construction Operations Software

Assignar is a cloud-based construction operations management platform for subcontractors and self-perform general contractors in the civil, industrial, and infrastructure industries. Assignar’s integrated workflows transform how organizations manage job site schedules, crews, equipment, safety, and compliance across all projects.

By linking Assignar with Oracle Primavera Cloud’s Lean scheduling capabilities, a digital connection is created from the general contractor’s jobsite task scheduling processes to the subcontractor’s scheduling processes. This ensures complete collaboration between the teams at the jobsite and those back at the subcontractor’s office.

Assignar CEO, Sean McCreanor, founded the company in 2013 to help solve the operational problems he faced in the construction business he owned and operated. The platform gives other subcontractors and self-perform general contractors the capability to grow revenue, gain visibility into their operations, eliminate paperwork, digitize workflows, and improve overall safety and efficiency.

The company’s modern cloud-based architecture easily integrates with project management, master scheduling, financial, and job site IoT solutions to enable contractors to build more. Assignar supports hundreds of customers across the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Today, Assignar is headquartered in Denver, CO, and has offices in Sydney, Australia, and Prague, Czech Republic. The company boasts a diverse workforce who have a passion for serving the construction industry.

ITI: Crane, Rigging, and Load Handling Operations

Based in Woodland, WA, ITI is a recognized global leader in crane, rigging, and lift planning related training and certification. ITI CEO Zack Parnell attributes the rapid adoption of VR training systems to a proliferation of high-end VR headsets hitting the market at affordable prices, as well as pent-up demand for a better alternative to the construction simulators previously available.

"An engaging student experience has been our focus for over 30 years," said Parnell. "It was immediately clear that VR would finally deliver an authentic training capability that we could feel confident about bringing to our customers."

ITI virtual reality (VR) features over 1,000 training and assessment scenarios across 12 distinct crane and equipment models (and counting). Unlike traditional, more cumbersome simulators, the ITI VR desktop unit is compact and flexible.

A laptop drives output to an Oculus Rift headset and a bracketing system with interchangeable joystick pods that attach to a table via a clamping system. The simulator packs easily into a rolling Pelican case for smooth transport to worksite locations for training or evaluation of prospective candidates.

We recently announced a major expansion of our Chicago-based Lab and will continue to highlight new partnerships at the Oracle Industries Innovation Lab as our ecosystem grows. Innovation is a team sport!
