Leading
geotechnical engineering specialists
Menard Oceania
and sister company
March Construction New Zealand have reason to
celebrate this month. The Menard March Joint Venture (MMJV) was named
Ōtākaro Contractor of the Month for their commitment to improving the
Joint Venture’s health, safety, environmental and quality performance on
site and their ongoing support of the companies’ values.
The Ōtākaro Contractor of the Month award was presented by Ōtākaro CEO
John Bridgman to Menard’s Andrew Vencer and Ōtākaro even shouted lunch,
a huge hit with the Menard March team!
In fact, for the past six months, MMJV has been hard at work, delivering
essential
ground improvement works required for the new
Metro Sports
Centre including the installation of 7,200 stone columns. When completed
in 2021, the Metro Sports Centre will be the largest sports and
recreation centre of its kind in New Zealand.
The MMJV team were delighted to win this award in recognition of their
commitment to
health and safety, which is something that is taken
extremely seriously by Menard and March. Both companies are 100 per cent
committed to ensuring everyone onsite returns home safely at the end of
each day.
Gary Webley from Menard Oceania comments, “The team have been hard at
work on preparing the ground for the new Metro Sports Centre since
October 2018. It’s great to be recognised by Ōtākaro for our health and
safety efforts while onsite. We are really proud of the work delivered
by everyone involved at MMJV and we’re excited to be edging closer to
installing our last Stone Column on site.”
