WGE enhanced by joining Stantec
15 March 2019
“We are truly excited to be joining
Stantec.
It is a move that will expand our reach and provide greater
opportunities for our clients and employees alike,” says José Granado,
Managing Director of
Wood & Grieve Engineers.
Following the successful completion of due diligence, award-winning firm
Wood & Grieve Engineers (WGE) has now begun the job of integrating its
business into global consulting firm Stantec.
“Stantec’s local operations complements ours, giving us enhanced
capability rather than simply a duplication of expertise,” Granado said.
“This was important to us – we wanted a partner with a similar culture
and reputation in the market to our own, but a partner that also valued
what WGE brings to the table. We’re thrilled to have found that in
Stantec.
“It’s exciting for us to be able to offer our clients access to
knowledge in new areas like
water,
transport,
environmental and
mining, and be able to support them on projects in other markets.
“Meanwhile, our people will benefit from greater opportunities across
the entire Stantec network.”
WGE officially joined Stantec on Friday 1st March , but the process will
be a gradual one with the firm retaining its name alongside Stantec
throughout the transition.
“The integration process is important to our shared future success and
we want to do it right,” Granado said.
“Clients will continue to see the same faces. Our teams will have the
same autonomy, and we remain committed to delivering outstanding
outcomes and exceptional service. But from this point we are now part of
Stantec.”
Stantec president and CEO Gord Johnston said WGE’s track record of
delivering iconic projects, with a clear client-centric approach, made
them the ideal partner.
“WGE brings recognised expertise and the regional presence to help us to
serve communities throughout Australia with an enhanced range of
services,” Johnston said.
“This union wasn’t simply about boosting our global engineering
capability, but our mutually thoughtful approach to work and excellence
in project delivery. Combined, we can use that approach to support a
wider range of interesting and innovative projects in the region.”
Stantec is a multi-disciplinary, publicly-traded company that unites
approximately 22,000 employees working in over 400 locations across six
continents.
