SMEC to deliver South-eastern Queensland Northern Treatment Plants Capital Works Program
20 March 2019
SMEC is
proud to partner with
Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) and
Fulton Hogan within a
collaborative and collocated delivery team to provide brownfield
treatment plant renewals and upgrades at QUU’s six major urban and
coastal Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), including Luggage Point STP,
Sandgate STP, Gibson Island STP, Oxley STP, Wynnum STP and Fairfield
STP.
The SMEC team have extensive and in-depth knowledge of the six treatment
plants in this program of works and the content of the work packages,
reducing start-up time and costs. The team’s wealth of experience in
projects at brownfield
waste
water treatment plants was key to this appointment which highlights
SMEC‘s deep expertise in the
Southeast Queensland water infrastructure
sector.
The scope of works under the Northern Treatment Plants (NTP) Capital
Works program includes civil, structural, mechanical, electrical,
instrumentation and control works. Work will be carried out in two
phases, with Phase 1 involving site investigation, identification of
project delivery risks and opportunities, and cost intelligence. In
Phase 2, detailed design including final SID/HAZOPS will be carried out,
site resources mobilised and the works commissioned and constructed.
