McConnell Dowell is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the design and construction contract for the Snells Algies Outfall Pipeline by Watercare Services Limited.

This project continues to build on McConnell Dowell’s extensive track record in the construction of major marine outfall pipelines in New Zealand. Our solution features the use of the Direct Pipe system to install a similar length of trenchless pipeline to that completed last year as part of the Army Bay outfall project, where we successfully achieved a world record for the longest Direct Pipe installation to date at 1930m.

McConnell Dowell Managing Director for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, Fraser Wyllie says that

“McConnell Dowell has a strong track record of delivering award-winning marine and tunnelling projects specifically ocean outfalls in New Zealand, which have greatly contributed to improving water quality in our harbours. We look forward to doing this once again at Snells Algies, applying our expertise in Direct Pipe methodology to improve water quality in the Mahurangi Harbour and delivering an upgraded wastewater system for this fast-growing region”.
