Waterbank workers will paddle to work

30 October 2018

Lendlease: Future Waterbank employees will be able to kayak to work, with wash-down bays and kayak storage as part of end-of-trip facilities outlined in plans for the precinct’s first commercial building.

The proposed building, to be called The Campus at Waterbank, will take further advantage of its Swan River location with public domain landscaping that will encourage work life to extend beyond the office. The precinct will also be connected to Perth’s extensive cycle network.

The plans are outlined in two development applications Lendlease has submitted to the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) for Lot 4 & 5, facilitating either a five level (10,570 sqm NLA) or six level (13,600sqm NLA) building that will front the extension of Hay Street to the Swan River.

Waterbank spans six hectares of riverfront land at Perth CBD’s eastern gateway and will be delivered progressively in partnership with the MRA. The development envisages a mixed-use precinct comprising workers, residents, retailers and visitors.

Quotes attributable to Waterbank project director David Ockenden.

“The design for Waterbank’ s first commercial building reflects our commitment to create a new kind of office environment in Perth – a workplace of the future that blends with parkland and the Swan River foreshore.”

“With floor plates in excess of 3,000sqm The Campus at Waterbank will give future tenants the opportunity to achieve flexibility in workplace strategy, from open plan to activity and team-based configurations.”

“Waterbank’ s future commercial tenants will also have direct access to the CBD via free public transport, plentiful onsite public parking and ease of access to major city arterial road routes.”

“The Campus at Waterbank will achieve a minimum 5 Star Green Star Design and As-Built rating.”

“Lendlease looks forward to undertaking further civil infrastructure works at Waterbank in early 2019, with a view to starting construction of The Campus at Waterbank in the second half of 2019, with a targeted completion date of 2021.”
