Help us, help you carpool on our roads
04 September 2018
Transurban: It’s probably not surprising that
during peak hour in
Sydney over 70 per cent of the cars driven by
workers have one person in the car.
In fact, this figure may even seem pretty low, after all you only have
to look each way to see all the empty seats out on our
roads.
But for our cities to flourish we need to make the most of the space we
have. This is especially important on our roads.
One way to do this is by getting people to fill the empty seats by
carpooling.
We know that carpooling isn’t always the easiest, or most desirable
thing to do. But it could have significant impacts on congestion,
emissions, and make travel more affordable.
