Creating Jobs, Attracting people to the Territory – 10 Year Infrastructure Plan Update
28 September 2018
NT Government:
The Territory Labor Government has awarded 215 contracts
since July 1 this year, with over 85 per cent of these going to
Territory enterprises.
Ninety-seven contracts for construction projects have been awarded this
financial year, with 100% of these awarded to Territory Enterprises.
The Territory Labor Government today released its annual update of the
Territory’s 10 Year
Infrastructure Plan 2018 – 2027.
The yearly review provides transparency in planning and prioritises
Government and Private projects for the Territory’s future growth.
The first Plan was released last year by Government along with the
Economic Development Strategy, and sets out the Territory’s long-term
infrastructure agenda.
The publication of project planning, investment opportunities and
sectors linked to future projects helps to guide and inform investment
decisions, as well as certainty in business planning and workforce
development.
The
NT Government will deliver another significant
infrastructure
investment in 2018-19 of $1.45B.
The 10 Year Infrastructure Plan includes private and public sector
projects including:
-
Truck Central
-
Mining Facilities in Tennant Creek
-
Aged Care Facility in Nhulunbuy
-
$15 million on recreational fishing
-
$12 million Alice Springs Adventure Cycling Tracks
-
Arnhem Space Centre
-
Tennant Creek Integrated Preschool
-
Darwin High School STEAM Centre
Over the last 9 months, the Government has consulted with industry,
business and
local government to review the plan and will continue to
undertake annual reviews to reflect ongoing development in the
Territory.
