Cardno appoints Chief Executive Officer

Cardno: The Board of Cardno Limited (ASX:CDD) today announced the appointment of Mr Ian Ball as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Ianís commencement date will be 9 August 2018.

Ian brings more than 30 yearsí international experience in consulting and professional services leadership within the fields of financial services, technology, innovation and Federal government. He joins Cardno following an extensive candidate search by the Cardno Board.

Ian is an accomplished senior executive who has held leadership roles in global companies such as IBM and Ernst and Young (EY). Starting his career as a Consultant for Bain & Company, he then moved on to become one of the founding members of a boutique consulting company, Kalchas, in the UK and subsequently in North America. This company was bought by CSC where he stayed on as Head of the Strategy Consulting practice in North America until 2000. Ianís next move was to lead the
Consulting practice for Mainspring, which subsequently executed a successful IPO and was acquired by IBM in 2001. Ian progressed through the leadership ranks of IBM to become one of their senior
leaders. He held a variety of roles including Financial Services Strategy and Operations Practice Leader in New York, Asia Pacific Sector Leader for Financial Services based in Shanghai and Managing Partner for Australia and New Zealand for their Global Business Services business based in Sydney. In 2008, Ian joined Silver Lake, the leading technology focused private equity firm as Value Creation Leader for Europe based in London before returning to Australia at the end of 2009.

In 2009 Ian joined EY as a leader in the Advisory business and then became Chief Operating Officer for Advisory across Asia Pacific. In 2012 he became the Markets Leader and Deputy Chief Executive
Officer for the whole EY firm in Oceania where he had responsibility for designing and implementing the firmís 2020 strategy across nine offices and two countries. After retiring from EY in late 2016, he established his own consulting practice.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Bristol (UK) and has completed the Executive Strategic Management Program at INSEAD in France and the Executive
Strategic Leaders Course at Harvard Business School in the US.

Cardno Chairman Michael Alscher welcomed Ianís appointment. He said that his experience and prior roles were consistent with Cardnoís future growth and business development plans.

Ian will be based in Brisbane, however he will be spending considerable time travelling throughout the Cardno business, particularly in the US.
