BUDGET 2018: More jobs with $1.45 billion investment in infrastructure

NT Government: The Gunner Labor Government is investing heavily in infrastructure in Budget 2018 to create more jobs, attract and retain more people, and deliver a brighter future for all Territorians.

Treasurer Nicole Manison said the investment in roads, housing, health, education, schools and tourism infrastructure will drive generational change across the Territory.


“Our $1.45 billion spend includes $626.4 million for Territory roads,” Ms Manison said.

“Roads are the lifeblood of the Territory, improving economic opportunities and creating jobs,” Ms Manison said.

Projects include:


Minister Manison said every Territorian deserves to access to quality housing and Budget 2018 invests $761.4 million to improve housing conditions across the Territory.


Budget 2018 also invests $79 million in health infrastructure, helping Territorians to live healthier and longer lives. This includes:


Our kids deserve the best possible education and Budget 2018 provides more than $130 million to our Territory schools.

Community safety

Budget 2018 has made community safety a priority, whether it be protecting Territorians from crime or natural disasters, our government has invested heavily to keep Territorians safe.
