NDY: Norman Disney & Young, A Tetra Tech Company, is pleased to announce that Director John Versace has been appointed as Sydney Office Manager, with Associate Director Nick Thurlow to take over management of the Adelaide team.

Incoming Adelaide office manager, Nick Thurlow, has been with NDY since joining as a Mechanical Engineer in 2006. Nick transitioned into a Senior Asset Performance role, working his way up to become one of NDY’s key client Relationship Managers in 2016. In this role, Nick is a focal point for key NDY clients and part of the Asset Performance Team, specialising in portfolio type projects including refurbishment, maintenance planning and strategic upgrades.

“I’m excited about this opportunity to build on the Adelaide office’s already excellent results,” says Nick.

“The current environment in South Australia is very optimistic, with government and private clients embracing many innovative infrastructure solutions. I look forward to NDY contributing to this period of growth and new ideas in South Australia.”

“Nick’s dedication, adaptability and customer focus all made him a perfect choice to continue the excellent work that John has done in Adelaide, “says Australian Director, Sam Aloi. “Nick is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and highly capable. We are confident that our clients will continue to receive the same high quality service that the Adelaide office has become renowned for under John’s leadership.”

His commitment to creating meaningful relationships with our clients is exactly what we want for all our office leaders.

John has lead the Adelaide office for the past two years, overseeing several landmark projects, including SAHMRI, ALDI Distribution Centre, Adelaide Airport Hotel and Channel 9’s Adelaide studio, office and data centre. With his strong record of success, he was an obvious choice to fill the vacant role of Sydney Office Director.

“We are always looking to develop our people,” says Sam. “When the role of Director of the Sydney office opened up, we couldn’t look past John Versace for the position. His commitment to creating meaningful relationships with our clients is exactly what we want for all our office leaders.

“I am very proud of what that Adelaide office has achieved while I’ve been involved with the team here,” says John.

“Our people are exceptionally capable, and have a great understanding of the local engineering landscape. Over the last six years, I’ve seen some amazing changes in the South Australian built environment. This opportunity allows me to return home, while bringing the same client-centric approach to NSW.”

“The scope and pace of projects in NSW offers a unique challenge to the local team. With over $70 billion worth of government funding for infrastructure projects, as well as an ever-expanding list of key clients, there are ample opportunities for NDY to showcase our capabilities. As someone who grew up in Sydney, I look forward to working with the clients here and contributing to the built services landscape of Australia’s largest city, and the home of NDY’s first office.”

John and Nick have both hit the ground running, joining their colleagues in their respective new locations and actively contributing to current projects.
