SMEC secures third Maintenance Optimisation contract

09 February 2018

SMECís continues its key relationship with a major Australian port operator following the award of a third contract in 12 months.

SMECís Asset Management team will provide specialist support services to develop comprehensive and detailed work instructions to ensure all mobile plant and equipment are maintained to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Australian Standards and Regulations requirements. Planned and scheduled maintenance, inspections and condition assessments ensures these assets are maintained to the appropriate standards required for users.

SMECís scope of work includes the development of comprehensive job plans that will enable delivery of asset management and maintenance by the clientís specialised maintenance teams and service partners. These practices provide safer working conditions, decrease interruptions in production, minimise business risks, and enhance the lifespan of the assets.

SMEC will also liaise with equipment manufacturers to ensure all original equipment components are current in maintenance manuals, work instructions and bill of materials, and update the clientís database.

This contract follows the recent completion of a maintenance optimisation review of all container cranes and floating plant assets for the client.
