NEPA Blitzed it in January

Fulton Hogan: From 8pm on Thursday 18 January until 4am on Wednesday 24 January 2018, the North Eastern Program Alliance (NEPA) successfully completed its 5-day construction blitz as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade.

During this time, over 45,000 passengers used the rail replacement buses, and works took place 24-hours-a-day on all sites in Alphington, Heidelberg and Rosanna. Activities included:

This was the 10th rail occupation undertaken since the project commenced in early 2017.

The work that took place during the intensive 5-day period were essential to ensure the team is ready for the major 44-day construction blitz that will be taking place from Friday 16 March 2018 until Monday 30 April 2018, when over 27,000m3 of fill will be removed at Grange Road to lower the rail, and the new rail bridge and elevated station at Rosanna will be constructed. At the end of the 44 days, the level crossings at Grange Road in Alphington and Lower Plenty Road will be removed, and the new Rosanna station will be opened.
