Probuild awarded Queensland’s largest CBD excavation contract

Probuild: Destination Brisbane Consortium
has announced Probuild as the successful
tenderer for the excavation
works package at
Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.
Excavation works will run for approximately 18 months. During this time
Probuild will undertake the equivalent of 5 basement levels of
excavation - up to 26m deep. 450,000 cubic metres worth of material will
be removed, including a substantial quantity of rock which adds to the
difficulty of the project.
“We’re pleased to have been appointed preferred contractor for the
excavation works package at Queens Wharf,” said Probuild’s Managing
Director for
Queensland, Jeff Wellburn.
“Being involved in the early stages of the project, via the demolition
works, allows us to develop a deep understanding of the Queen’s Wharf
project and stakeholder needs.
“To be involved again, in the state’s biggest-ever CBD basement
retention and excavation project, is an achievement for Probuild. Queens
Wharf is an important part of our city’s history and we’re proud to be
delivering the next stage of it.”
