Cardno appoints Chief Executive Officer

Cardno: The Board of Cardno Limited (ASX: CDD) today announced the appointment of Mr Andrew (Andy) Goodwin as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Mr Goodwin’s commencement date will be no later than six months from today (08/11/2017) and will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Most likely he will start early in the new calendar year.

Mr Goodwin brings more than 30 years’ international experience in engineering consulting services within the fields of energy and urban infrastructure and joins Cardno following an extensive candidate search by the Cardno Board.

His areas of specialty include executive management, technical leadership, project management of complex projects, managing diversity, managing change and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) projects.

 Mr Goodwin was most recently CEO and Managing Director of SMEC, a member of global consultancy, Surbana Jurong. SMEC is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the areas of transportation, water and environment, dams and energy and international development with an annual turnover of A$640 million, 5,800 staff and 80 offices across more than 40 countries. Prior to this, Mr Goodwin held a number of senior executive positions for 12 years at Finnish engineering consulting company Pöyry in Thailand and Switzerland. As Executive Vice President, Urban and Mobility, and President, Hydropower, he was responsible for top line growth and associated profitability of the global transportation and hydropower businesses respectively, while in his position as Managing Director of Pöyry Energy Thailand, he had responsibility for the entire operational, and the financial performance of Pöyry Energy (Thailand) Ltd. and Pöyry Energy (Philippines) Inc.

Mr Goodwin holds a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of South Africa. He has also completed the Oxford Advanced Management program at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Cardno Chairman Michael Alscher welcomed Mr Goodwin’s appointment. He said that his experience and prior roles were consistent with Cardno’s future growth and business development plans. Mr Alscher also thanked interim CEO Mr Neville Buch for his significant contribution to Cardno. Mr Buch will continue in his role until Mr Goodwin’s commencement.

It is anticipated that Mr Goodwin will be based in the US to reflect Cardno’s growth plans and to tap into the immediate opportunities we see in the region however, he will be spending a considerable amount of time in Australia.
