Thatís a wrap for Bayswater station

23 August 2017

The Bayswater Level Crossing Removal Project is now complete. With the removal of two dangerous and congested level crossings at Mountain Highway and Scoresby Road as well as construction of the brand new Bayswater Station, all thatís left to complete are the balance of landscaping and streetscape works that are well underway.

The project team comprising Fulton Hogan, Laing OíRourke and AECOM was awarded the contract back in November 2015, with major construction commencing in the first week of March 2016 and the main occupation complete with trains running 11 December 2016.

Mike Kenealy, Project Manager and his team put in the hard yards to deliver a significant amount of work within a short design and construction timeframe.

By removing the level crossings and upgrading the station it has completely rejuvenated the Bayswater precinct, transforming the setting into a contemporary space thatís now accessible and safe for pedestrians and road users.

Congratulations to the entire project team on reaching this significant milestone. Everyone involved should be extremely proud of the part they have played in delivering an important piece of Victorian transport infrastructure.
