Lendlease’s flythrough video of Calderwood Valley gives first look at Illawarra’s newest suburb

31 July 2017

Lendlease today (18/07/2017) revealed a new flythrough video of Calderwood Valley, the largest masterplanned community in the booming Illawarra region that will eventually become home to around 12,500 residents and 5,000 homes.

The flythrough video takes viewers on a bird’s eye view journey from the Shellharbour coastline to Calderwood Valley, to give locals and residents a preview of what they can expect from the flourishing suburb as it continues to evolve over the coming years.

General Manager of Lendlease’s Communities business in NSW/ACT, Arthur Ilias, said this is a really exciting time for the Illawarra region. The area is experiencing strong development and growth, with 78% increase in land sales over the past two years making it the third largest economy today in New South Wales.

“With a booming service sector fueled by growth in tourism, health and education, as well as a convenient location, the Illawarra region has become an appealing place to live for everyone from first home buyers and young couples to families and retirees.

“The flythrough video showcases how far Calderwood Valley has already come, with the community centre ‘Sprout Hub’, Display Home Village, Sales and Information Centre and infrastructure, such as the Djindi Bridge already delivered.

“The video unveils all that Calderwood Valley will have to offer, including future parks, playgrounds and sportsgrounds, schools and childcare centres, and a village and town centre.

“Homebuyers can also see how the future community will embrace the natural environment, such as Fig Tree Park – a destination 3.2 hectare park which will be home to an extensive network of walking and cycling tracks, playgrounds, and picnic and barbecue areas.”

Lendlease has sold over 1,000 lots to date at Calderwood Valley. According to The Illawarra-Shoalhaven Regional Plan 2014 by the NSW Government Planning & Environment, the region’s population is set to grow by over 15% by 2036, meaning there is strong demand for the kind of affordable and quality housing offered by Calderwood Valley.
