State Government keeps building South Australia with $12.1b infrastructure investment

South Australian Government: A record
number of
South Australians will be working on public infrastructure projects
in 2017, as part of the Government’s $12.1 billion investment in
infrastructure.
New major projects worth more than $1.5 billion supporting more than
1300 jobs will start in 2017 including:

$238m Torrens Rail Junction and Mike Turtur Bikeway overpass

$220m Festival Plaza redevelopment
-
$152.4m Gawler electrification
-
$85.5m Flinders link extension
-
$70m AdeLINK Tram extension
-
$55m Gawler East Link Road
-
$32m Upper Yorke Peninsula Road Network upgrade
-
$35m upgrade for Her Majesty’s Theatre
This is in addition to the more than 130 infrastructure projects already underway as part of the Government’s $12.1 billion investment over the next four years including:

$1.6 billion on water infrastructure

$985m Northern Connector

$896m Torrens Road to River Torrens upgrade

$620m Darlington Upgrade
-
$588m on residential housing

$397m Convention Centre redevelopment

$250m STEM facilities at 139 schools

$160m O-Bahn City Access Project
-
$106.25m APY Lands Main Access Road

$110m additional road maintenance and shoulder sealing

$100m New City High School
South Australia is experiencing a
once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment as we deliver the
roads, schools,
light rail and
hospitals our state needs.
We want to ensure the benefits of our $12.1 billion infrastructure
program extend well beyond the delivery of major projects by helping
more South Australians get into work.
Our industry participation policy is ensuring our record infrastructure
investment provides new job opportunities for South Australians and
helps existing workers learn new skills.
