Mainmark shortlisted for two awards at the 2017 Ground Engineering Awards
07 March 2017
Mainmark: We are delighted to announce that
Mainmark has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2017 Ground
Engineering Awards.
Our work in rehabilitating the True Blue mineshaft in West Wyalong, one
of
New South Wales’ most technically and physically challenging derelict
mine shafts, has been shortlisted for International Project of the Year.
Using a bespoke grout formulation and self-releasing grout deflector,
Mainmark placed a neutrally-buoyant plug 30m underwater at 3 bar to
support 270 cubic-metres of backfill material.
Our world-first Liquefaction Mitigation solution, developed and
extensively tested in
Christchurch’s ‘Red Zone’, has also been
shortlisted for the Technical Innovation Award. The solution was used to
re-level the Northwood Supa Centre in Christchurch, with minimal
interruption to the centre’s big-brand retailers.
The Awards are an important opportunity to recognise and benchmark
excellence in the ground engineering industry. As the winner of the 2016
International Project of the Year Award, we are honoured to be among the
finalists once again, particularly in what has been a competitive year
with a record number of entries.
This is a testament to the deep expertise, innovative thinking and
dedication of Mainmark’s team, who continue to find advanced solutions
for tackling some of the industry’s most challenging projects.
In June, members of our senior management team will travel to London to
attend live judging in front of members of the 49-strong jury, which
comprises industry-leading clients, contractors, consultants and
academics.
The winners will be announced on 5 July at a glamorous ceremony at the
Hilton Park Lane, London, where more than 800 of the industry elite will
join together for an event filled with entertainment, celebration and
networking.
