Lendlease selected for Richmond River Bridge

17 February 2017

Lendlease has been selected as preferred contractor to design and construct the Bridge over the Richmond River at Broadwater, as part of the Pacific Highway Upgrade between Woolgoolga and Ballina.

Craig Laslett, Managing Director of Lendlease’s Engineering business, said the company was proud to be contributing its bridge building capability to deliver the one-kilometre-long bridge, which is being jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments.

“We look forward to working with Roads and Maritime Services to make the Pacific Highway safer, more efficient and support regional development,” he said.

“Since the completion of the Tweed Heads Bypass in 1991, Lendlease has been involved with upgrading about 262 kilometres of the Pacific Highway. This work includes the Macleay River Bridge, as well as the major bridges currently being delivered over the Hastings and Wilson Rivers, between the Oxley Highway at Port Macquarie and Kundabung.

“In delivering this project, we will apply our industry-leading bridge building capability together with the expertise and local knowledge of our pre-cast manufacturing facility in Macksville.”

Construction is scheduled to commence in April 2017 and is expected to be complete in 2019, weather permitting.
