Sydney Yard Access Bridge

Laing O’Rourke has been awarded
the contract to deliver the
Sydney Yard Access Bridge project, the first
early and enabling works package of the
NSW Government’s $11.5 billion
(approx.)
Sydney Metro City and Southwest project.
The contract will see Laing O’Rourke responsible for the design and
construction of a
bridge for controlled heavy vehicle access from Regent
Street into the
Sydney Yard at Central Station to facilitate the
construction of the Sydney Metro works.
Laing O’Rourke’s Region Director Mark Dimmock said he was excited by the
opportunity to work on this significant project.
“Laing O’Rourke has a long and proud history of delivering major
metropolitan
rail projects around the world, including here in Sydney,”
Mr Dimmock said.
“The contract was signed with Transport for New South Wales last week,
making our role official and signalling the start of work on the design
phase of the project.
“Sydney Metro can rely on Laing O’Rourke to bring certainty and achieve
outstanding outcomes throughout the delivery of this complex project.”
Laing O’Rourke is currently delivering a number of major infrastructure
projects across the rail network in NSW including:
Wickham Transport Interchange in Newcastle
Novo Rail Alliance (a large infrastructure upgrade program to the Sydney
rail network); and
Easy Access Station Upgrades (Penrith, Flemington, Wentworth Falls and
Heathcote)
