Georgiou: National building construction, engineering and property
development company Georgiou Group has secured the coveted
Scarborough Redevelopment head works contract for the Metropolitan
Redevelopment Authority (MRA), valued at circa $50 million.
Together with the City of Stirling, the MRA is delivering a $100 million
refresh of Scarborough Beach and creating new foreshore attractions for
families and visitors to enjoy.
The scope of works involve construction of a brand new surf club
facility, improved promenades and beach access and a children’s
playground, skate park and other recreation facilities surrounding the
new Sunset Hill.
Chief Executive Officer John Georgiou said the company was pleased to be
appointed preferred tenderer after successfully delivering the forward
works package on the development in 2016.
“Scarborough Beach is an iconic landmark for
West Australians so to be able to deliver the redevelopment and
rejuvenate this area is a great honour for Georgiou,” he said.
“We’ve delivered a number of projects for the State Government and we
look forward to strengthening our relationship and working closely with
the
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority and the City of Stirling
throughout the project to leave behind something we can all be proud
of.”
Other iconic projects Georgiou is involved with include Mandurah
Replacement
Bridge Project and the Aubin Grove Train Station.
