SMEC Improves Vehicle and Pedestrian Access at Brisbane Airport

SMEC has commenced a contract with Brisbane Airport Corporation, providing design services for the lead-in infrastructure of the proposed Domestic Hotel Development by Accor Hotels, including a 5-star Pullman hotel, a 3.5 star Ibis hotel, and a conference and meeting centre.

SMEC will design safe access for vehicles and pedestrians to the hotel development, including vehicle entrance, exits and oversized car park. SMEC will also design a pedestrian path which integrates into the existing airport infrastructure. This will provide passenger connectivity from the domestic airport terminal to the hotel development, incorporating new ground level covered walkway and travelators.

SMECís services will include: civil and structural design (walkway, travelators), traffic management, environmental management, geotechnical investigations, hydraulics analysis and design, water and sewer reticulation, electrical reticulation and lighting, communication technology, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance and landscape architecture
