Albion Park Rail bypass ground survey work starts

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward today announced that early work to prepare for the design of the Albion Park Rail bypass starts early next month with a ground surveys being carried out along the proposed corridor.

Mr Ward said that the Roads and Maritime Services is now planning for a future extension of the M1 Princes Motorway between Yallah and Oak Flats to provide a bypass of Albion Park Rail.

“The New South Wales Government has allocated $1 million this financial year to progress investigations and planning,” he said.

“Survey work will be carried out to model the bypass options from February until the end of March, weather permitting.

“The majority of surveying work will be carried out along the bypass corridor off the road using mobile laser scanning equipment.

“Should access to private property be required, land owners will be contacted

“The local community will be kept informed throughout this process.

“The community will be advised in advance of work during through letters, regular community updates and via the project website,” Mr Ward said.
